Over My Dead Body
by Derek BenfieldWednesday 16th May – Saturday 19th May 2012
Following the death of his wife Helen, Gerald hopes to spend the rest of his days comfortably alone with his memories; doing his best to avoid the cooking of his daughter Shirley, and patiently endure the awkwardness of his son-in-law Mark. However, unbeknownst to him, Helen had other ideas…
As women start turning up unexpectedly from past and present, it soon becomes clear that his late wife had gone to great lengths to ensure he would not be alone in his retiring years. With the situation spiralling out of control, and his independance under grave threat, he, Shirley and Mark will have to come up with a plan and quick before things get out of hand!
The Beeston Players’ latest play – in association with Samuel French Limited – is a delightfully amusing comedy by Derek Benfield. He also wrote Bedside Manners; Wild Goose Chase and Look Who’s Talking.
Performing at Roundhill School, Beeston at 7.30pm between Wednesday 16th May – Saturday 19th May.
