2015: The year you join us?

Get Involved with Beeston Players

Have you ever thought that you’d like to have a go yourself, either on stage or backstage? We would love for you to come and join us!

But… I’ve never acted before!

Don’t worry, we won’t throw you in at the deep end! We welcome people of all abilities and experience. There are frequently smaller roles which you can start off in, and as you get more and more confident, you can opt for the larger roles. It’s entirely up to you!

But plays aren’t just about the acting. There are always lots of other important roles including direction, production, set design, sound & lighting, prompting, front of house etc…

What does a typical meeting look like?Christ-Church Chilwell

We meet regularly on Monday evenings, from 7.30-9.30 (except during the summer), so this would be a good opportunity to come and meet us and find out more. You will usually find us reading through different scripts, looking to get ideas of future plays for the group to perform.

In the run up to a production, those involved will be rehearsing, leaving a smaller reading group, so you will certainly get a chance to take part. We usually break for about a half hour to have coffee and biscuits and catch up with one another.

Monday meetings take place at Christ-Church Chilwell (get directions). The entrance is on College Road, and we meet in the room at the top of the stairs.

Do I have to pay?

There is an annual membership fee of £20, but we’ll only ask you to pay if you want to commit to joining us, so please feel free to come along for several weeks before deciding. Also, we ask members to contribute £1 per week to cover tea/coffee and biscuits.

If you’re interested in coming along to a meeting, please get in contact with us.
